Series Draft 1

In this series I focused Michael Kenna's photography techniques. This is my first black and white draft incorporating various approaches to cityscape photography exploring architecture, street objects, and nature. Many of Michael Kenna's cityscape photographs focus on the mixture of a "busy" city connecting to naturalism and simplicity. In many of these images I used trees and surrounding environments to explore numerous themes of cityscape photography.

  1. the black and white effect looks really good on the parking meter.

  2. the specific color and tone of each picture is very similar to michael kenna's editing. I like the way you used a many different elements to make a unified picture. The city is a busy place but you and michael kenna are able to make it seem simple at the same time.

  3. Great Series. I really enjoyed how you decided to use black and white for all of your photos. i really like your photo of the parking meter. i think that the rain that collected on the meeter adds a nice touch to your photo.

  5. the tonality is really good in all these pictures and makes it feel very textured. Im not sure if they are completely black and white or just monochrome but i like the look thats going on. you were also very effective at juxtaposing nature and cityscapes, bringing out one in the other
